Crowley Millar Solicitors is a dynamic and well-connected law firm with international links.  We are a member of Mackrell International which enables us to provide clients with global legal services.  Our unique China Desk employs Mandarin Speaking Chinese lawyers who are qualified to practice law in both Ireland and China.  We are specialised in providing services, not just to the Chinese community in Ireland but also internationally to consortiums and individuals based in China (and other countries) and especially those interested in doing business in Ireland.

Our lawyers are well versed in relation to the requirements for Visa and Work Permits, the Immigrant Investment Programme (IIP), Company Formations and Property transactions. They are multi-lingual in relation to all necessary enquiries from both China and Ireland in relation to these areas of work.

Our goals are four fold:

1. Attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)

The advantages of doing business in Ireland, such as its favourable rate of taxation, its reputation as a mergers and acquisition base for international companies, its highly educated and skilled workforce and its favourable business investment incentives are all made easily accessible to Chinese clients by Crowley Millar’s local and international partnerships (legal, financial & tax) and our dedicated China Team.

Through our understanding of Chinese business culture, our China Desk has developed an easily accessible platform for Chinese clients to gain the maximum benefits of conducting business in Ireland, whether it be by investing in real estate, merger or acquisition or investing in existing business etc.

2. Immigrant Investor Programme (IIP)

The Immigrant Investor Programme facilitates investors and business professionals from outside the European Union who wish to avail of opportunities of investing and locating business interests in Ireland.  This subject is of particular interest to Chinese businesses and individuals.  Crowley Millar are at the forefront of providing legal services to Chinese investors and have successfully secured numerous applications fir investors to date.

Successful applicants can expect to receive a stamp 4 residency for an initial two years and renewable for a further three years if certain conditions are met.  After this initial 5-year period, the investors will be free to apply for long term residency or citizenship.  The investors, along with their family members, are entitled to work, study or do business in Ireland.  Furthermore no minimum residence requirement is set out, other than the stipulation that the persons concerned should visit Ireland at least once in every 12-month period.

3. Facilitate Irish businesses exporting goods and products to China

As the exclusive Irish member of Mackrell International, Crowley Millar have been able to facilitate Irish companies to export their goods and products to China through our contacts there.

The fact that Crowley Millar can assist in opening these trade routes for Irish business is very significant in that heretofore, Irish entrepreneurs had to work through various procedures and paperwork and found it virtually impossible to break into the Chinese market. Irish companies can, if their products meet certain criteria, secure the appropriate licenses to allow their sale in China.

4. Provide legal service to Chinese communities in Ireland

Crowley Millar is a full-service law firm offering a wide range of legal services including Commercial Litigation, Employment Law, Company Law, Media Law, Personal Injury, Estate Planning, Immigration Law and Property transactions.  With the establishment of our China Desk, which is manned by Ping Bai from China, it is our intention to grow this department by targeting the local Chinese community for their day to day legal work.

We are an active member of the Ireland China Business Association and are fully committed to serving the Chinese community in Ireland.

Thank you for your interest in our Chinese services and if we can be of any more assistance, please contact Ping Bai: at or John W. Carroll at
